Alphard Bank is a small group of long extinct volcanic seamounts that lies 43nm South East of Struisbaai. They rise from the bottom at 80m to 14m at the shallow pinnacle, this is where large shoals of Cape Yellowtail. Marlin, Dorado and Wahoo are often sighted during summer months. Large pods of Pilot whales are found predating on the Yellowtail. Humpbacked and Brides Whales are very common, Sharks, turtles and Sun fish are also often seen. A photographer's paradise, from the boat as well as underwater. Scuba divers must be Advanced qualified and experienced, as these dives are challengening. All scuba trips will be double dives. Free divers must bring their own fishing tackle and Photographers need to bring their cameras and spare batteries.
